Here are two journalism programs that are doing it right: one on the undergraduate level at the University of Texas-Austin, the other on the graduate level at American University here in Washington, D.C.
Also, here are two websites that intrigue me: the Northern Virginia Writing Project at George Mason University, and WiredAcademic.com, the brainchild of two terrific young men I first met at the Neuharth School of Journalism a while back: Paul Glader and Biagio Arobba.

This advertisement about the Guardian‘s open journalism, screened for the first time on Feb. 29, imagines how we might cover the story of the Three Little Pigs in print and online. Follow the story from the paper’s front page headline through a social media discussion and finally to an unexpected conclusion.

The place to meet on the Fairfax campus
The George Mason statue is kitty-corner to the Johnson Center and the Mason Pond Parking Deck, where guests can easily park on the first three levels (Fairfax campus map). As soon-to-be emeritus faculty, I'm always happy to meet with friends and my former Mason students on campus.
